L’autre Joe de San Jose

 Joe Pavelski

Kyle Turris, ranked Number 1 on my Top 200 Fantasy Prospects List, has signed a contract and will play in Phoenix's last three games of the season.  Kevin Porter, ranked 54 on my fantasy prospects list, scored four goals in a 5-1 victory over Niagara in the Frozen Four tournament. He could make the Coyotes [...]

There has been much ado about the way defenseman Brian Campbell has turned around the San Jose Sharks since his arrival at the trade deadline. Patrick Marleau has 14 points in the 16 games since February 26. Jonathan Cheechoo, prior to his neck injury, has been showing signs of shaking a season-long slump. Superstar Joe Thornton has also seen a boost in his numbers, tallying 20 points with Campbell in the lineup. But one player seldom mentioned in the mainstream media should be on your keeper-league radar and he also makes an excellent dark horse for your postseason pools.

David Krejci has seven points in three games without Mark Savard. The Bruins signed undrafted UFA Jeff Penner to a two-year entrayl level deal. The 20-year-old, undersized rearguard has some offensive upside, but will never get into the lineup over Matt Lashoff. Expect him to start in Providence next year. Vinny Prospal missed yesterday's contest because of [...]

Nik Hagman is pointless in his last nine contests. Sergei Zubov will not play this weekend, but should play during the week sometime. Steve Bernier had eight points in his first seven games for Buffalo, but is pointless in his last six.  The Detroit News is reporting that Dominik Hasek will likely not start Sunday. He was back [...]

March of the Penguins

Malkin, Malone, Sykora, Gonchar

Most of the harder-core poolies are well aware of the fact Pittsburgh coach Michel Therrien changes his line combinations more frequently than he changes his socks. They are aware of it, and they hate it. But he has settled on one line combo that has really clicked and is one of the primary reasons the Pens are still winning hockey games with Sidney Crosby out of the lineup.

Just updated Looking Ahead. Will add the last three days of the season in a couple of days.  San Jose has activated Ryane Clowe from the IR list and the winger could be in the lineup this weekend. He has missed most of this season and as such makes a great sleeper pick for playoff pools. You will [...]
