In Canada we tend to forget about US College hockey and the deep strides it has made into NHL player development. There are more and more budding talents that the Canadian poolie isn’t exposed to, so here is a brief update on who to keep an eye on south of the border.

Wow, just look at that cocky grin on my dog. She’s clearly egging me on and rightfully so after wiping the floor with me last week picking nine winners out of 13 matchups to my lowly five. Perhaps those few errand passes she got hit with as a puppy running around on the ice while we played shinny have instilled her with a superior hockey intellect? Nah, who am I kidding, she’s a mutt from the humane society and last week was just beginner’s luck. Plenty of games on the schedule so let’s get things started!

March is the month with the most NHL action in it with a total of 210 games.  Combine that with a playoff races and no stupid breaks like All-Star or Christmas and this is a hockey fan’s dream.  Although the schedule makers haven’t pulled out all the stops and given us a day where all 30 NHL teams play.  October 25 was your only time for that.

The trade deadline is quickly approaching which will definitely involve plenty of GM’s in the decision-making process. You, as a fantasy GM have just as many decisions in order to get your team towards the finish line. Hopefully the buzzing this week will make your decision-making process a lot easier.
