I thought of this when I was reading from another thread.

Who would be the PP quarterback in Tampa?

Carle?
Ranger?
Picard?

I would be thinking it will be Ranger, but let's see what everyone else says.

Last season never happened- it was all just a bad dream for Carle owners. He is (as he always has been) an offensive stud, with absolutely no consistency issues.

Carle gets my vote...

Matt Carle is going to get a long good look at it... also don't count out Kuba, 37 and 31 pts. in the last two years, he could get a shot as well with some of the others mentioned. But, it's Carle's to lose.

Maybe it's going to be both Carle and Ranger on the blue line for the PP. I just hope it' Carle, cause I got him in my team.

I'm hoping for Kuba but I think it will be Carle and Ranger to start the season.

Instead of annointing a new QB in this discussion how about we speculate who hits the ice on the PP. Lecavalier, St. Louis, Prospal, Vrbata, Carle, Ranger... that new kid Stamkos... so that's 7. Then come Picard, Roberts & other variables. People don't play the full two minutes (generally). Will the new coach be as insane as Tortorella in regards to playing his stars into the ground? So, I think that both Ranger & Carle have every reason to feel optimistic that if they work hard they should receive substantial extra man minutes. Ranger did a pretty good job last year with 10 goals and management should be optimistic that he can repeat. It's time for Carle to step up or he'll soon be compared to Leopold & Tanabe - or have those discussions already started?

I think we might see powerplay units as follows :

PP1
(if losing or tied)
Prospal-Lecav-Vrbata

Carle-St. Louis

PP2

oullet- stamkos-Malone

Ranger Kuba

PP1
(if winning)

Prospal-Lecav-Stamkos(malone)

Carle St. louis

PP2

Oullet-jussi(stamkos)-vrbata

Ranger Kuba

I think they will try stamkos with lecav as much as possible.

Unless the new coach is REALLy HI on Stamkos, than you may see vrbata/oullet(or malone) stay with him on every occasion regardless of the pp/pk etc...

As I asked in the thread which started this topic: If Carle is on the first power play unit, how many points does he get?

I think 35-40 points, IF he plays top PP unit and if he sees over 20 minutes per game...that's conservative perhaps, but I wouldn't bet on more...

I say he starts off slow the first season with 40-45 points & people in Tampa will be calling for his head because they traded Dan Boyle. The second year you should increase to the 50 point barrier. Steady progression.
