As of the Penguins last practice the units have been changed up a bit. Kris Letang is now manning the point opposite Evgeni Malkin on the top unit. That duo is joined by Miro Satan, Jordan Staal and Sidney Crosby.
The second power play unit was made up of Tyler Kennedy, Ruslan Fedotenko, and Petr Sykora, with Alex Goligoski and Darryl Sydor on the points. |

I agree, J Staal might have a great season ahead of him. Some more info. The last game of preseason already started and Penguins currently lead Jokerit (Finland) 2-0. First goal: 11:58am EST, Thursday Oct. 2nd (5:58pm CEST - Central European Summer Time)
The Penguins took a 1-0 lead on a power play at 9:00 of the first period as Evgeni Malkin blasted a slap shot off a feed from Alex Goligoski. Sidney Crosby also assisted on the playhttp://penguins.nhl.com/team/app?articleid=384464&page=NewsPage&service=pageGoligoski assist.... A bit confusing, but Letang may have already gotten to the bench at the time of the goal. |

this is great news for us Letang owners.....I also own Whitney so it is a little bitter/sweet.....its because of Whitney's sore foot all last year that his numbers were down.....when he gets back we'll see what his made of, hopefully.

They need Staal's presence in front of the net. Having a right-handed shot on the opposite point for Crosby and Malking to feed will be a big help in offsetting the loss of Gonchar and Whitney.
