My Boucher vs his Bergeron.

I like Bergy's upside but I feel a strong stars team this year. Will Butch get injured again? Can he repeat his 45 pts seasons?

Keep Boucher. Your point about the Stars this year sums it up. Cheers.

LOL that was a bold statement! Anyway I pretty much have to go with the flow here - you can probably move Boucher later in the season for something better than MAB if he comes out good to start the season.

Bocher is pretty old and gets hurt every year, averaging only 60 games a year since the lock-out. In 16 NHL seasons he has only put up double-digit goal totals twice. 55 GP and 10 G, 15 A this year IMO

Bergeron has a wicked shot and has scored 38 goals since the lockout, missing a lot of time for being a healthy scratch, not injury. If he has a coach's confidence, as he did in dmonton and Long Island at the end of 2006-2007 season, he can excel if used properly. If anyone can teach him defensive play, It's Lemaire. A PP specialist who scores 15 G and 25 A in Minnesota, IMO

Bergeron is behind Zidlicky and Burns to man the PP in Minny.

Whereas Boucher is the heavy shot that Zubov usually feeds one timers too on the Dallas PP. As Shoeless mentioned above, with a hot start he'll have tremendous trade value (he has great multi categorical stats inc. PIM and +/-) and will fetch you more than just a MAB.

MAB... the PP specialist put up only 18 pts. last year, and if he continues his inept play in his own end of the rink, Lemaire will have a permanent obus form seat for him on the bench in Minny

As a Bergeron owner in a long-term keeper league, I'd have to vote for Boucher. Both have big shots, but Boucher on the number one pp with Zubov for even 60 games will probably produce more than Bergeron on the second line pp. If Bergeron adjusts well in Minnesota and isn't prone to those breakdowns that he experienced too often last year (probably the biggest reason the Isles dished him to Anaheim, then Anaheim promptly turned around and dealt him to Min), he may get more pp minutes. If either Burns or Zidlicky gets injured, that might make his stock go up too. Still, as it stands right now, I'd rather have Boucher.

Thx guys, I am keeping Boucher. What about Robidas steelar play during Boucher/Zubov injuries? Couldn't he steal Boucher's spot on the PP?

Don't think so Yanos - he really doesn't have the offensive skill set of Boucher.

Even if Robidas sees more pp time and he should, there's room for both those guys to put up good numbers, I see very little difference between Dallas' number one pp and their number two.. Lots of offensive talent there this year. Who'd a thunk it?
