HELP: Malkin + for Heatley Igg +

Someone in my league just offered a blockbuster trade and I don't know what to do. I have a pretty big mancrush on Malkin so I don't know if I can let him go:
To me: Heatley Iginla Burns 1st round draft pick (which will probably be good for a decent goalie or 60 pt forward)
To my buddy: Evgeni Malkin Ryan Smyth* Andrei Meszaros*
* I would be dropping these guys anyways because of the max number of players we can have, so I'm just giving them to him.
Please tell me what you think. Team and league in sig.

wow, I am surprised at how many fantasy GMs are shopping Malkin around to land two or three quality keepers in return. A couple of days ago I responded to a similar posting where someone was going to trade Malkin for Spezza and Lecavalier. I responded in that posting saying that I would prefer Spezza and Lecavalier, so considering you would be getting Heatley, Iginla, Burns, AND a 1st round pick, I gotta say I would do the deal. Heck, maybe I mis-advised the guy in the other forum. He should hold out for a stud dman and a 1st rounder as well. It is always hard to trade a Malkin, Crosby, or Ovechkin, but I think if you can land two or three superstar players in return and give your team more depth, you should seriously consider it. That is my take. However, no one seemed to agree with me on the other forum and I don't know how many people will agree with me this time. Good luck whatever you decide to do.

wowzers, interesting offer.
your forward keepers would go from:
Now: Thornton, Sedin, Gomez, Selanne, Hejduk, Erat (Malkin, Kopitar, Backstrom, Staal, Brassard all 24 and under = free keeps)
After: Iggy, Heatley, Thornton, Sedin, Gomez, Selanne? (+ Kopitar, Backstrom, Staal, Brassard)
I would decline because of how your keeper system works. Doing this trade means you lose 3 keepers pretty much.
Still, its a pretty good offer. Good buy-low time for Burnsy.

sorry but i have to disagree here based on this post i would say do it.. your losing selanne, hejduk, erat as keepers but your gaining iggy and heatley along with burns on d(maybe getting forward status next yr who knows). but you also have a first rounder which can easily pick up someone of same value in hejduk and erat, which i both like but you can recover with his 1st rounder and yours.

Now, that's an offer. One that a fellow must give consideration. My eyes bugged when I first read it. Then I saw that your pool didn't recognize wingers. Still very interesting.
KEEP 10 1) Thornton 2) Sedin 3) Selanne 4) Giguere 5) Gonchar 6) Heatley 7) Iggy
Keep 3) E. Staal, Kopitar, Backstrom (Was), Erat, Gomez, Brassard, Ryan Whitney, Leclair, Morrow. One of these dudes hits the bricks that you otherwise would have retained.
That makes the trade:
Heatley/Iggy/1st next year for Malkin/Morrow
If Malkin is a 130+ point guy in your mind, I wouldn't do it.
Iggy isn't going to get more productive. Heatley probably will have a career year yet. Burns is a throw away (probably). The 1st is a 60 point guy.
Pretty serious offer though. I don't know what else he could offer.

Thanks everyone for all the quick replies.
This trade does play against how I work my keepers since I'm losing one young player (Malkin) and then two 'old' players in Heatley and Iggy. In turn I would lose Selanne and Demitra along with Erat, Hejduk and Smyth who I am losing regardless.
JHM, Malkin is a 130 point player in my mind. But you have my keeper situation wrong, I probably should have clarified more, but it is exactly how ultrawhiteness stated.
I'm still contemplating this deal and it is killing me haha, but I apreciate all the replies.

If Malkin is a FREE KEEPER, then no question, you don't trade him. That adds tremendous value to your side of the equation.
