Hey Kopi,

For the best results, we would need to see what the rest of your team looked like. I mean if you have Nabby and Luongo and you start 1 goalie a week, there is no reason to do this. But just looking at it player for player:

Backstrom: I really like this kid. He has a real future in front of him. Look for him to be around a point per game player in the next 2-3 years. Especially if he can stick with Ovechkin. There is no reason he won't so he is legit in most leagues that are going to count overall points. I really don't see him helping you out much in the PIM department and I can realistically see him taking around 200-220 shots per year.

Biron: Pretty decent goalie. But he has been a bit inconsistant of late. His play is based on those that play in front of him. Which means that he is not going to be a lock to have a solid season year after year. That being said, I would take him as a strong 3rd goalie or a decent 2nd goalie depending on the number of teams in the league.

Lundy - Top 5 goalie TODAY for sure. And the kid is 26 years old. Seriously, I lucked into getting him this year and boy am I ever glad I got him. He will be my #1 guy for the next 10-12 years. No matter how the guys in front of him play, Lundy is going to be a rock and someone to build around.

Selanne - He is going to be a stud this year. THIS YEAR. He is going to retire after this year, or the next so you would basically be renting a player.

Overall, in the reality of the situation, if you are one quality player away from winning it all this year and Selanne will put you over the top, I would make the deal. You are getting Lundy who I believe is the best player in the deal and people are ALWAYS looking for a steller goalie. But centers are easier to replace.

Long term is a little tougher and would really be based on your roster. Is Backs going to play every day for you or is he more of your third guy behind Crosby and Malkin? For my team, I would make the deal. You shore up your goalie cats with Lundy and you get a pretty good piece for the end of the year.

Hope this helps

Good Luck

Knowing your league and situation would help. I'll add to what bballplyr has already said.

1 year league...huge vote for Selanne/Lundqvist.

Keeper league...probably Backstrom/Biron...simply b/c Selanne doesn't have any long-term value.

Keeper league and you could win this year...Selanne/Lundqvist.

Limited keeper...it depends on your positional depth and chance of winning this season.

Cheers.
