I am very interested in acquiring Shae Weber and the owner of him has interest in my players. He is also trying to move Cammaleri (which would help me out too or ease the points I may lose on forward). My question is who to give up to get Shae Weber and CAMMY
This is what I was thinking and willing to give up....give me any suggestions...KARMA in a big way will be given
I GET: weber and cammy He GETS: one of (Mueller, Zherdev, Brassard, Berglund) and Meszaros....
He wants a "stud player" in the worse way....whats the value of these guys...Zherdev, Mueller, Brassard and Berglnd?
Possible combinations? Thanks in advance

In my opinion, none of the players you are sending his way are studs. I think you would have to offer a lot more than that.

yeah you will most likely have to offer him a combo, and i cant see him giving up weber unless hes getting a decent dman back... under said circumstances hed probably want letang or bouwmeester.
id try letang and zherdev for weber and cammy. IMO zherdev is always gonna underperform so youre probably looking at neutral value for cammy and zherdev, or maybe a slight loss, and then its a substantial gain in weber over letang. dont get me wrong letang will be good but with goals emphasized in your pool a dman who gets lots is huge.
that would be my fair offer, but first id try something like zherdev and mezarjos to see how interested he is. you obviously dont want to lead with your best offer first.
id also consider finding out which of your young guns he favours. above all the others i would covet mueller but see what he wants and go from there.

This is the worst possible time to acquire Weber. If I had Weber, I would be asking for something a lot bigger than a Mueller, Zherdev, Brassard, Berglund. Maybe everyone but Berglund. Don't take that as a criticism of your prospects, they are as fine a list as anyone in any league could assemble. However, I'd be arguing that my Weber was a 70 point D-man for the next 10 years. The NEW GRAND POOBA OF THE BLUELINE. Then Cammy.
Zherdev is a decent racing piece now. Mueller, Brassard will have hot spells & cold spells. I don't know exactly what Berglund represents.
So, maybe you can swing Zherdev for Cammy (each has those 20ish points). We'll say that he prefers Zherdev.
Pretend with me for a minute. You are the Weber owner. Would you take your well developed point a game young D-man and swing him out the door for a centre (Brassard) that is struggling to get ice time right now and has scored the same number of points? Mueller is also a great, great kid. But he isn't scoring at a rate that you really want him in the lineup right now.
If I was to consider moving my Weber I'd tell you I wanted Kovy. At least Stastny & stuff. Kovy & Roy? Stastny & Ollie?
This is what the market will bear at the moment. Skip whether that's fair or unfair.
If you can pull Weber from the other guy for a couple of very awesome prospects, grab it. I can't see it though. (It's been done before though!)

he seems to be wanting to do it....hes especially fond of Berglund which is tough because of any of my prospects his upside seems to be the most uncertain. thanks so far for your help....and keep those suggestions coming. I will keep everyone update on how it works out.

Wow, you're gonna fleece him. I have Weber, and would not trade him for any of the guys mentioned above. I'd be asking for a hell of a lot more. I wouldn't trade Cammy for any of the guys listed there either, to be honest.

OUTCOME: I almost had Weber with the following offer
Zherdev and Letang and 1st Rd Pick, 2nd Rd Pick FOR Cammy and Weber and two 3rd Rd Picks (09 and 2010)
...he said it was between my offer and this offer which HE ACCEPTED and IMO is a terrible deal...PS - he dealth the following players to the guy leading our pool (who no body wants to win)
HE GAVE UP: Weber, Cammaleri and Mikko Koivu and 2nd Rd Pick (about 35th overall) RECEIVED: Mike Richards, Dubinsky and Girardi and 1st Rd Pick (10th overall)
This is probably the worst trade ever. The same GM started with Malkin, Price and Weber...has none of them left and his best player is Richards

Honestly, if he would of accepted your offer it would have been worse!! M Richards is a very good player, probably more value than Weber. Neither of the players you offered were even close to his value. The picks make up for some of the difference, but I would rather have a top player than some picks.

I think Voracek + Ry.Whitney would have been a better deal for him too. But you can't really get upset if the guy accepts a bad offer from someone else instead of a bad offer from you. To each his own I guess.

absolutely....not upset that he didnt accept mine (i really didnt expect him too) but thought he gave up too much for Richards. His original offer (that didnt include Mikko) was a fair deal....Just my opinion Watch11
