I'd say they could be ranked more into Tiers

Tier 1
Turris
Stamkos
Filatov

Tier 2
JVR
Oshie
Voracek
Brassard (perhaps)

Tier 3
Backlund
Berglund
Boedker

These players are all good players and don't take Tier 3 as a slight, they've all got at least 70 pts in them I'd say but you should gun for the top 3 guys obviously, they're no-brainers. We're talking long term upside. Turris and Stamkos are the absolute best options...but I don't think I needed to tell you that.

First, know that I definitely take certainty to make the NHL into account just so you know how I'm rating these guys...

Turris - Turris and Stamkos could be interchangeable to me, if it was based on pure talent...however, I like his situation in PHX exponentially better than Stamkos' Tampa Bay...100 point upside
Stamkos - see above, 90-100 upside
Voracek - he's a winger and if you have positional requirements this is a good thing, plus he is a solid two-way which means his NHL certainty is that much higher, 90 point upside
Brassard - unbelievably gifted center but has had some minor injury issues, 90 point upside
Filatov - plays LW which is golden, he's unproven which is why I put him under Brassard (who has already had some PRO conditioning) but his upside is great, 90+ points
Oshie - surefire NHLer, which I love and his upside is 80 points...I really like this kid and he's a safe bet.
Berglund - almost a surefire NHLer, not quite, but he's huge and plays big, 85 point upside...him and Oshie should make a great 1-2 punch for the Blues in years to come
Boedker - plays LW which counts in my league setup...he's evidently close to NHL ready which is great news and has a decent upside of 75 points with 35 goals...
JVR - this kid is evidently amazing, but once again, everyone above, in my opinion, has a better mixture of NHL readiness, less transition time, and great upside...He could go above Boedker, but I think we'll see Boedker sooner...upside of 85 points?
Backlund - this kid is amazing and his upside is considerably better than some of the other guys, but I put him further down on the list just because I am unsure how certain he sticks on the top two lines in Calgary with Keenan behind the bench...I really like him, but I would take the others before him if I had the chance, 90 point upside...

once again, I take certainty and upside into account and this is the ranking in which I would draft these guys...hope that helps

I don't think I'd give Boedker the 35 goals, he's not much of a shooter, I'd peg him at a max of 30.

Tough group but here goes...

1)Turris (100 point upside) - I like how PHO is bringing Turris along and the players around him. They brought in Jokinen which takes the pressure off Turris. The 2nd line will be dangerous on the offensive PHO attack - the checking lines may change their focus to the Turris' line instead of Jokinen's by mid season.

2)Stamkos (95 point upside) - Unlike Turris, Stamkos will have a lot of pressure on him being the #1 overall pick but TB has brought in some decent wingers for him and he should be up to the challenge as Kane was last season.

3)Filatov (100 point upside) - Filatov wants to play in NA this season but how patient will he be if he doesn't make the team? He is high risk, high reward. But keep in mind the new threat of poaching by the KHL.

4)Berglund (90 point upside) - IMO opinion, Berglund is the better offensive talent compared to Oshie. He could make an imapct this year like Kopitar did 2 years ago.

5)JVR (85 point upside) - He may be the best out of all these players. He lead the 2008 WJHC in points with 11 and the 2007 U18 tournament with 12 points. Turris, Stamkos and Filatov all played in these 2 tournaments on more talented teams. He had a successful freshman year at NH and is heading back for another NCAA campaign. Keep an eye on his development.

6)Voracek (90 point upside) - Great opportunity for Voracek to grab a top 6 role this season and produce right away.

7)Brassard (90 point upside) - A gifted center with soft hands, hopefully he can shake off his consistent injury issues and avoid becoming a band-aid boy.

8)Boedker (80 point upside) - Had great NA debut with Kitchener last season excelling in the regular season and turning it up in the playoffs and Memorial Cup. If the chemistry displayed with Turris at rookie camp is any indication of what's to come, then Boedker will be a Coyote next season.

9)Oshie (80 point upside) - Will be a consistent 2 way forward. Oshie may follow a similar path as Mike Richards but may produce less points.

10)Backlund (85 point upside) - Had a coming out party at the 2008 WJHC and seemed to turn it on in the latter part of the season although he played in the 2nd division in Sweden (but so did Berglund). The jury is still out on when he will be playing in the NHL. The reason I rank him at the bottom is I need to see another season of development before I put him ahead of any of these other guys.
