Patrick Roy's habs jersey to be retired- November

Richard Labbé of La Presse newspaper says that Roy's jersey will be retired during a pre-game ceremony in November. Roy says that the annoucement hasn't been confirmed to him yet by the Canadien's brass. Montreal players will wear 4 different retro style jerseys during the Hab's centenial events. The first one shown (the 1915-1916 one) will be on November 15th against the Flyers, then they will put the 1912-1913 one on during their February 1st game against the Bruins. The Habs team will turn 100 in December 2009, therefore they will have plenty of time to wear the other two types of jerseys next year.

Funny to think about them retiring his jersey since I remember VIVIDLY his last few moments in Montreal after he got SHELLED and was FURIOUS on the bench.
I guess that is all water under the bridge now since Patty got to raise the Cup TWO more times without the Habs.

Wow, when I first heard he was having his jersey retired I assumed it was going to be the Avs, I thought that the Habs wouldn't bother after the way he spewed venom at them at the end.
I think TIANTONIO is right though, it's AMAZING what a STANLEY cup will do.
