Interesting quote from Kovalchuk regarding the KHL

I keep skimming articles to find news on Radulov and I stumbled and this interesting tidbit about Kovy: Here's what Kovalchuk told me: "They've got a good league. The KHL is going to be really good. I'm here right now, I have two years on my contract. All my mind is here. I don't think about it right now. But when my contract is up, you never know."Source: Sporting News (last paragraph) I figure he's just posturing.. but it's got to be a growing concern to hear comments like this.

I think it's 99% positive that the KHL have gotten to this position. The bad 1% is the Radulov case, pretty much. Basically, the prescence of the KHL forces the NHL to play their A game and not fuck things up with the players, or else they might go to Russia. Some of them, of course. The vastly overwhelming majority will play in the NHL without hesitation.

Thanks emurdoch. Always good to have in the back of your mind when you are a Kovvy owner, which I am in only one keeper pool.
It will be interesting to see if the KHL can keep operating and continue to pilfer NHL calibre players. I don't see it, but I think we'll see the occasional star defect (funny term to use when going BACK to Mother Russia).

I look at this stuff like I do with anybody who is going to be a free agent(which is funny because he's still got 2 years left) and says "I'd love to stay with ::insert team::, but you never know what'll happen". Wake me when something legit happens.

I'm begining to think that Atlanta aren't too bad. They won 7-4 last night, and Kovy got just 1 pt. There is other good players there, I think Kovy will like that, and stay in NHL...
