i understand that... but in years past i remember crosby, ovechkin and even kane being in there before the season started.... stamkos pretty much has a lock on the lightning.. why not add him

OV was certainly not in the system when the season began, I remember missing out on him by 1 waiver priority point.

I am all but positive Malkin was available before playing a game. I really hope they add some of the rookies as it would give a huge advantage to be drafting last with 1st waiver priority..

This happened last year too. They just havent updated the player list (which includes rankings). In a couple days it will be updated. One morning you will wake up and tada....

the only players who hadnt played a single game in the NHL that was available the past 3 years is Crosby. Ovechkin and Kane were only available after there first game
