First things first, great article Angus, takes balls to make these predictions, this squad is going to be a force. They will be looking for Russia and will take everyone down in their path..

But come on Angus, Stamkos but no Turris in 2010??

You really think Weber will up his game enough in the next two and a half seasons to make Team Canada for 2010?? I think Green will be starting personally..

Goalies I believe will be Brodeur, Luongo, and Price.

I hope Sakic makes it to 2010 and captains this team in Vancouver..

I think this team has a chance of becoming atleast top three best assembled teams in Team Canada history, and that is saying alot. Having Crosby and Lecavalier on your second line shouldn't even be fair. And replacing Draper and Maltby with Morrow and Richards as your supposed "grinders" is huge. And Getzlaf,Staal and Sakic on the third line, HA, unreal. And on any other team Toews and Spezza would be first liners forsure, and on Team Canada they can't even make the cut for the top 12, beauty..

D-men, all I can say is wow. You have your Pronger and Boumeester starting things off. Then you throw out there, Hmmm say Phaneuf and ??, well who cares, you have Phaneuf. And then you get to pick from Burnsy, Regher, Green, Weber, Keith, etc. All I can say is unreal..

I had Iginla in Sakic's spot (don't see him playing 'till 2010) but changed it last minute and forgot to update.

Turris also could be an alternate. My gut choice for third goalie would be Ward, because of the time he has put in at the WC over the years. Canada values that commitment when a lot of other players reject it.

I absolutely love the Morrow/Richards/Doan line. That would be a nasty piece of business.

I slotted in Iginla with Sakic and Staal, although I don't think Sakic will play, I had to include him. Getzlaf is the next logical choice.

Weber will make the team. He is a stud, just had a rough year with the dislocated knee cap (one of the most painful injuries imaginable).

I knew I was forgetting somebody aswell, I was trying to think, I was going through all the teams. I can't believe I forgot Iggy, who should be captain if Sakic isn't there.

Pretty solid when Iggy is pushed down to the third line..

Iggy could easily slot in with Crosby and Lecavalier as well.

I think Canada will roll with three scoring lines, and a fourth line that can score and punish (NHL ice for 2010).

Another potential roster:

Nash-Getzlaf-Heatley (dominant at the WC)
Crosby-Thornton-Iginla (Crosby can play wing, as he did with Begeron/Perry at the '05 WJC)
Sakic-Staal-St.Louis

Spezza is a big, big talent, but his skill doesn't separate him enough from the other centers (Getzlaf, Staal, Thornton), who are much, much more well rounded.

The way that Nash-Getzlaf-Heatley played this year at the WCs, I would love to see that line back together.

If sakic isnt there (i dont think he will be), i think getz deserves the nod over spezza for sure, hes a much more responsible player.

The possibilities are endless... that checking line is SICK, prolly would be one of the best ever, some other ideas for lines...
