Radio Show

Looking forward to being on soon, I couldn't make the last one due to work.

Guests are important and will definitely be the focus of the show. I have no doubt that the future will bring all kinds of changes but Honestly, who cares what the hosts are saying??, is not a good statement.

The host sets the tone, temperament and personality of the show. They are also expected to guide and question their guests to draw out the information their listeners want to hear.

You do not have to be an "expert", Genius or more knowledgeable than guests but you should be bringing something to the table other than volunteering time. Call it a personallity, a schtick, a gimmick, whatever you want because if listeners do not like or respect the host, they will not stick it out through 1 bad guest.

Being the "goalie guy" and developing a niche is a huge benefit, that will gain you respect with listeners and guests. Especially ones as obsessed with hockey, stats and info as the ones on this site.

I don't think he meant it quite like that, Chuk. At least, I hope not...sometimes you type something up quick and it comes out wrong. Lord knows I've done it myself far too often haha.

Of course the hosts MATTER I'm just saying when it comes to true hockey analysis, that's what the guests are there for ... to support certain topics that the hosts bring up...which is exactly what Chuk is saying. And of course I believe that.

What I meant by "who cares what the hosts are saying" is that the hosts are known and expected to drive the bus...of course...and the analysts are the passengers and expected to provide quality and unique answers. I was just stating that the focus of an interview is what the guest has to say...not necessarily what the host has to say in response...although it is OF COURSE an important aspect of a radio show.

But either way all of this feedback is great and I appreciate it all and will definitely continue to work on developing all of the aspects of Dobber Nation.
