Radio Show Episode 5

Well I was quick to judge the radio show after its first 3 episodes saying it was pretty bad but I gotta give credit when its due. The last 2 radio shows have been the best so far with the latest #5 being the best. I guess dobber was right in telling me to give the show a 2nd chance. You guys found a unique perspective to talk about certains player in depth like bryan berard even though hes old news still interesting and the gentleman presenting the info on him was pretty solid. Talking about some not so popular prospects im sure did the trick for some listeners. I just wanna say good job and keep up the great work. I think you guys are finally starting to make a show for the educated hockey fan.

Just wanted to say thanks for giving it a 2nd chance and thanks for listening. I don't want to make excuses but the first few shows you heard were the first times we had EVER worked together. We're starting to develop a little bit of chemistry and hopefully we can continue to grow and get better! Thanks for passing that along though, it's certainly appreciated.

It was a great radio show. But J.Goldman really has to work on the players names... i THINK IT WAS Mr.Goldman talking anyway..

First off he didn't do his research very well, he calls a guy Rich when his name is Raymond.

It's pronounced >>> VORA-CHECK not VORA-SEC
AND FILL-A-TOV is not FEEL-A-TOV.

It's like watching the local news in ThunderBay and they are trying to pronounce Khabibulin or Toews, It's TAVES..HAHAHA

But great show, very imformative. Great job guys. Can't wait for the next one. And for everyone who hasn't listened, make sure you listen, its a great show.

You forgot that I accidentally referred to Sundin as Sakic ... and I think I also messed up Tuukka Rask's name. And I wasn't the one who brought up Sawada - I knew his name - Brenden mentions me as liking him since he is in Dallas right now ... but yeah that was me who butchered Voracek's name.

While I have absolutely no excuse for the mistakes, besides the fact I nearly killed myself to get these shows/articles done right now (ask dobber or brenden) on top of my already heavy load, this show was produced 95% live...so we didn't go back and re-do little cuts when one of us made a simple or accidental mistake...I just happened to make a handful of them this last show I will get better I promise!

Thanks again for the support from Brosal - I think he was more ticked off about the Brenden Morrow comment from a few shows ago more than anything

Yeah the name thing sort of made me giggle as well, but not a huge deal really. I listened to it this morning while feeding my kids some breakfast so I'm going to have to give it a second go.

I think the Filatov name can be done either way for now, until he is pronounced in a few NHL games. After all - Kaberle has been pronounced wrong from the start. It should be Ka-BEAR-lah. Instead, everyone says KA-burr-lay.
So for new Europeans - perfectly acceptable.
And Rich vs Ray Sawada - my fault. I listed him as Rich in the email I sent to Justin.
Voracek - same comment as for Filatov, we can let it slide in my books.

I think the name thing - other than the Sakic/Sundin messup which was covered well - is fine

kaberle is pronounced like that?? wow, had no idea.

for the record, the correct pronunciation of voracek's name is ya-cub vor-a-check.

many of his halifax teammates called him jake, though.

great show guys. the quality improves each and every time. radio (and tv for that matter) is so hard to sound good on, but it comes with experience. i would sound like a stuttering idiot if it was me.

My Sundin mistake is hilarious because I literally had done nothing but talk about SAKIC's return since it happened out here in Colorado...so it's all anyone has been asking me to talk about on the radio ... but still no excuse!!!

Every show will continue to improve as we get more and more familiar with the process. It's one thing to just come in and HOST a radio show, it's another to be responsible for the ENTIRE and TOTAL creation, production and editing process of the same program...it's a lot of work!

And that's why the support and understanding is so very much appreciated We are doing this for everyone that frequents Dobber's site and because let's be honest...IT'S A LOT OF FUN!!

ya the morrow thing was bad comparing a 70-80 point player to a goon

brosal- just to let you know the Avery/Morrow comment was made more in stature and style. They have a comparable frame and like to get under peoples skins. That was where the comparison was made. I guess it should've been made more clear but if you listened to the whole segment, I mention Avery isn't a fantasy guy... he stands in front and 14 pucks a year bounce off of him and he gets credit. I just wanted to throw that out there.
