So has anyone heard whether Frolik has signed yet? And what is the general opinion whether he will sign.

No word yet; if they don't sign him, he goes back into the draft, which means 10th pick overall down the tube. They'll sign him.

Dobber - in the ramblings you said Europeans do not have to be signed, giving the example of Enroth, who's still playing in Europe. Is this also the case with Europeans drafted out / playing in North American junior - e.g., Frolik, Fiala, Kovar?

No, if the player is in junior, he has to follow those rules. Only if they are playing and under contract in Europe.

yup, just returned from watching the game (damn Bell Xpressvu died on me at home) and saw the news. That's it for the 1st round, but there's 5 2nd rounders still unsigned.

Deadline tomorrow (Sunday) 5PM EST and still a whole whack of players needing to be signed.
People of note on the list:
Swan (ANA) - Stock may have dropped a bit, but played out of position on C and PK, rounding up his game.
Puustinen (CLG) - led Kamloops in goals and points this year, 4th in WHL rookie scoring the year before, and may be the best offensive winger in the Flames system.
Fiala (MIN) - led Saskatoon in scoring, playing on a line with Colton Gillies, who's already signed by Minnesota. And they will need offensive talent to fill out roster holes.
Zaborsky (NYR) - pure offense winger who isn't physical and doesn't play D. Somehow the Rangers seem to like projects like that.
Also note:
Williams (COL) - one of their leading D prospects; I wasn't aware of the fact he spent a month in college before bailing for the OHL. He thus does not need to be signed tomorrow.
Hillyer (NYR) - Had already signed in April; I just missed it.
Kovar (PHI) - didn't realize he was drafted out of Europe and then came to the OHL. He thus may not need to be signed by tomorrow.
Seabrook (WAS) - also started in college and left, so he does not need to be signed.

The list now contains players I haven't seen announced as being signed. News is still trickling in - the Osala signing was announced after the June 1 deadline (I am guessing that if a team makes an offer by June 1st it still allows the prospect some time to agree or go back to the draft), Latal (PHO) just signed with Sparta Praha (Prague), and I came across a note in a Sharks blog that DeLory was not signed and went back into the draft. I am on a trip now until about a week and a half from now, but will see if I can dig more info on the others.
Will post if I find anything
