Malkin... what are you doing?

I'm a huge Malkin fan... but the shit he's pulled in his last 3 games, is starting to make me think otherwise. All the slewfooting, fake slashing, and cheap elbow on Briere there near the end of the second. He's being a bit of a bitch... this kid isn't God on skates. Someone needs to get his head out of the clouds. Malkin may be bigger the Cindy and can take more physical punishment, but what goes around comes around, so I'd keep my eyes peeled and not admire too many passes coasting through the neutral zone.

Anyways, I just thought he had a little more class... but I guess that goes out the window for him as well.

he is taller than Crosby, not no way is he bigger. Crosby has 10-15 lbs on him.

Ahhh... maybe it's the height that just makes him appear bigger than he is.

I've gotta cut him a little slack on the retaliation stuff. He's young. Gary Roberts has to sit him down and explain a few things to him - like about how winning is better than getting even with cheap shots.

I think that he has to learn English first. Maybe he doesn't want to.

Yesterday on CBC, the announcer at one point was mentioning that Malkin will want to sign an extension next season.

However, he doesn't want a hometown discount, he wants the full package. So he will get way more cash than Crosby. To me, this is a sign of being selfish and I often believes that it will make him someday a enigmatic or lazy player like Jagr and Kovalev can be.

This same attitude seems to run through most of the Pens lineup. You gotta love Jarko Ruuto's (sorry if I fucked that up) reaction to getting two minutes for diving. "Who me!?!?!"

Of course it's a young team and immaturity is part of that, but the Flyers are also a relatively young team and don't act like this. I think it points to the coach, a guy I can't stand, and also back to the officials.

The calls were at the very least inconsistent. Hatcher gets two minutes for hooking when all he did was play the man the way any coach will tell you to, but when Briere takes a shot (from I believe Malkin) to the head that leaves him woozy there's no penalty. If you're the Pens it's only natural to try to get away with all that's allowed, and whine when every little thing isn't called, simply because that's the way the game is being called.

It's sad, but it is getting to the point where I absolutely hate the Penguins. I was just saying to my brother after the game that I don't think I would have been nearly as upset with the Flyers being down 0-2 to Montreal (in fact I had them getting beat by the Habs), but losing to the Pens is driving me nuts, simply because of their attitude.

Really though, the Pens are not playing very well and have won both games. If ever they get all the players on the same page (and it might not be this year - though it should be) then they are frighteningly good.

Attitude or not, the Pens just keep on getting the job done. I'm starting to wonder if Detroit is going to have as easy a time as everyone thinks against the Penguins. I guess time will tell.
