My Off-Season (Part 1 of who knows)

I thought it would be interesting to blog a bit about the off-season in one of my fantasy leagues.

The league is your standard rotisserie league. There is no salary cap or bidding or anything funky like that.

We have the entry draft coming up (we do two rounds, so there are lots of undrafted/previously drafted guys available). I am picking 14th out of 20, no idea who will be available.

I want to move a few guys (Brunette for one) this off-season and want to get an elite winger. I'd also like to get a third goaltender capable of starting or a back-up that plays quite often. I have some prospects who will play pretty big roles next season, including Stralman, Sekera, Giroux, and Raymond.

I figure I'll post periodically with any news/moves I make. It should be interesting to look back at my thought process after the "off-season" is complete.

thanks. I figure I will update it every week, but still maintain a semi-long-term outlook (if that makes any sense at all...).

As for this squad, I am trying to package up some stuff to land either Hemsky at RW, Horton at RW (hello break out), or Vanek at LW.

I'm hoping for the Horton break out next season aswell..... glad to have him in my keeper.

Both Vanek or Horton would fit nicely in your team. I'm a big believer of Horton (especially in a roto) and really hope he break out this year.

I like Vanek, too. I think he fell off a bit this year after losing Briere and Drury. Next season should be sweet.

Sedin/Sharp for Vanek/something,

or

Caputi/Sharp/Brunette for Horton/Boyd

Are two offers I threw out there. We will see if they lead anywhere.

I like the first one better as you already Ribs, Getz and Mueller to take the load at C. Swapping Hank for Vanek will get you more goals and SOG for sure.

I do like Sharp and figure he is a lock for 30-35 goals every year, as long as he stays on that Blackhawk team.

I'm definitely not moving Perry or Parise, so it doesn't give me a lot to work with at wing. Brunette has a bit of value (especially in a deep league), but being a UFA his future is unknown a bit.
