Who's team is looking rather good right now?

Can someone enlighten me to the calculations for this, or send me the spread sheet you guys are using, id like to mess with this stuff

Im loving that I am in the top 3 in one ranking (offence only) and then top 10 in another one once (goalies included) I picked my first goalie. Thats with some guys like Cheechoo and Cammy having off years... Hopefuly they move back up and the others stay the same.

it is just last years stats for all the players or in my case my "projections" for each team and then worked out base on roto rules

I averaged the number of points available per category based on approximatley 750+ players (we will draft 750).

Average number of goals could be 300, for example. If my squad could reach 300 goals I would rank around 15th.

As players are drafted I compare the sum of each category to the average. Teams are ranked according to their difference from the average amount.

Teams are then assigned ROTO points based on their rank.

does anyone object to posting the excel files your are using for these calculations. Im not familiar with the yahoo stuff, so this being my first draft and keeper league im trying to just get my head around everything.

sorry Notubble, my sheet has all my player projections, don't really want to share that info but what questions are you after?
what guys have been doing is collecting trhe stats for all the players being picked (G,A,+/-,PPP,SOG,PIM,W,GAA,SVS) and see what your team has as well as the others.

the way the roto works is that you get points based on where you rank in each of our 9 stats. so with our 30 teams if you are 1st in a stat you get 30 points, last will get 1 and this is done for all 9 stats to get you overall point total, the max any team can have is 30x9 for 270 and the lowest any team can have is 1x9 for 9 teams will move up and down between there as they move up and down in each stat.
what i and others seem to of done is tracked each teams players and where they are strong to see what they need to draft to keep up with others like if i am last in goals i will try and draft a goal scorer, or if i am low for PIM i will get a PIM guy, but even in doing this it is all either based on last year or in my case projections.

mine has all my projections and draft list aswell.

What you need to do is take everyones team and add up the totals for each category and rank them against the other teams.

most goals: 30 pts
least goals: 1 pt

ex tie for 1st. (30+29)/2 = 29.5 pts each

I have all of my stuff in a database so I can run queries, but Chinny and Nuck have the gist of it.

OK, well, i think im getting the idea here, but i think i will leave the projections up to you guys. Anyone want to fill me in on why there are Red up arrows and Blue down arrows on the Prospect report
