Don't know if we have any fans from the Twin Cities here, but I'll be appearing on KFAN 1103 AM Sports Radio Saturday morning to discuss the NHL Entry Draft. I'm tentatively scheduled to come on at about 9:35, with the segment lasting ten minutes. Non-Minneapolis residents can listen in online, but the feed is blocked in Canada. I'll be discussing the top picks, as well as team needs and preferences, and maybe some other stuff depending on time.

Good for you Bugg!
Still waiting for the day when you won't be able to give us info because you'll be employed by an NHL team.

Bugg is it me or does this draft not match up to 07 forwards, Turris, Kane, Gagner, JVR, Eller, Voracek, Perron, Cherry, Hamill, Couture, Espo.
Even 06 had some great forwards in Toews, Mueller, Brassard, Giroux, Staal, Backstrom, Berglund, Little, Backlund, Okaposo, Sheppard, Bouchard, Frolik, Tlusty. I can keep going. Almost all these drafts produced some solid fantasy Dmen also.
What players in this class up front ranks with those guys from years before. I bought the guide but i just feel this draft is lacking players upfront.. They seem to have talent.. but not the point per game talent that the other drafts have given us.

DAW... maybe only because we're immediately more familiar with guys who were drafted previously. for instance, last year, would you have compared Turris, Kane, Gagner, JVR, etc to some of the previous drafts? hell no! last year, it was all about how their were 7 good players and very slim pickings after that... everyone was saying it was a "weak" draft.
Kane and Gagner almost singlehandedly flipped that idea over.
anyway, this year we have Stamkos and Filatov, who are both farther ahead than anyone picked in 2007.
Hodgson, Wilson, Boedker, Tedenby, Eberle, Boychuk, Petrov, Grachev, Beach, Trivino, Colborne, Ennis, Stefanovich... these are all bonafide 1st rounders in any year and will probably go later in 2008 than they would have in 2007.
the reputation of 2008 as a "dman" draft has blinded us a tiny bit, i think.

Your right Ultrawhiteness.. But allot of those prospects had allot higher upside.. kane 95, turris at the time 120, gagner 90, eller 90, voracek 90, cherry 95, hamill 90, espo 100, jvr 85. what i'm saying is in the prospect report allot of the guys had higher upside than the guys in this draft.

Bugg,
Ugh. that's all I can say. You were actually on 690, the Score, KFAN's daytime-only sister AM. Still, Twin Cities coverage, though. But, not KFAN. Good thing for you, you would have been on with a former Viking and another guy who knows NOTHING about hockey.
Brutal to hear DOEBERHOCKEY over and over again. And you were too polite to correct them. It just makes me shake my head. I wish there were more guys in this town who could talk hockey in the media. There are only a couple who know their five hole from a hole in the ground, I'm afraid.
Seems the entire segment was very Wild-centric. That's fine for part of the interview, but damn, there are a couple dozen picks that will take place before the Wild grab theirs. It would have been nice to hear a bit more balance.
Still, good to hear you on in the TC. If I can ever manage getting a sports talk show here in the TC, I'll make sure I have both you and 'DOEBER' on regularly. If we're the state of hockey, we might as well sound like it.
