Lets see how I do here...
1) There will be a big surprise among the "consensus" top nine (Stamkos, Doughty, Bogosian, Pieterangelo, Wilson, Boedker, Hodgson, Filatov), and it won't be Myers
2) One of Jokinen/Cammalleri will be dealt
3) Vancouver trades their pick in a package for some offense
4) Malone and Orpik are dealt to CLB (their rights) for the 19th pick
5) Blake Wheeler signs with the Rangers
6) Erik Cole is traded for a defenseman
7) Dallas deals a defenseman in a package to get into the fist round
8) McCabe is traded to NYI in a salary dump
I'll see what else I can come up with between now and next Friday.

Hoping it is Jokinen
3) Vancouver trades their pick in a package for some offense
Very plausible

I do believe they are gone but not to CLB
5) Blake Wheeler signs with the Rangers
6) Erik Cole is traded for a defenseman
Hasn't this been going around for awhile
7) Dallas deals a defenseman in a package to get into the fist round
8) McCabe is traded to NYI in a salary dump
This would be the smart thing to do and I pray it happens but alas, I don't think it will. Leafs management is just too dumb

Angus I have a feeling that Vancouver will try to move up in the draft. I'm not thinking the top five but i'm thinking they will try to move up around 6 to 8.
My reasons for this are simple. Our new gm wants to make a splash. The only problem is not enough good top end offensive players on the market worth giving up a top end pick for. Yeah Jokinen would be great, I just don't see the canucks having enough to give up for the panthers to bite. So now it comes down to two things. He either sits pat and drafts the best player that drops to ten, or he moves up in the draft and takes one of the big forwards. This will be either Wilson, or Hodgson. We can all wish it would be Filatov, but I don't think we have enough to make the Islanders want to give up on drafting Filatov.
What i'm trying to say is Gillis does not trust the canucks scouting staff.. So he is going to make his choice on who there first round pick is. He also wants to make a splash, and by doing this he needs to move up in the draft unless he feels one of the two centers will drop to him. He is going to address the big club through free agents.
Let me know if you think this will be the road for the Canucks..
On a side note. If ATL can't sign Kolvachuk I think the Canucks will be one of the front runners... Sedins for Kovy would help the gm in atl sell that to the fans more instead of top end prospects. Little would be a perfect fit with the sedins as he can play rw also from what I understand.

just noticed these posts now...
apparently the Canucks are really interested in Pickard as well. It only makes sense if they move Schneider, but even then there are way more glaring needs on the farm and in the organization.
I think Gillis moves the pick personally.
