Perhaps I stand corrected, I stumbled across this from wizworm, who is a faithful CBJ follower:
Russell showed promise as a offensive defensemen but he's tiny and still needs some time. With the additions of two puck moving defensemen with NHL experience in Tyutin and Backman not to mention a proven NHLer like Commodore to the backend Russell may not be able to find a spot this year. Columbus has added depth to the backend and now they have those guys plus last years group of Klesla, Hedja, and Tollefsen. They've also got some AHLers who saw some time in the NHL last year in Rome, Wilson, Methot and Siglet.
I wouldn't be surprised if Dobber's right and Russell is sent down this year. He was great on the PP keeping the puck in the zone and moving it around but he was a bottom 6 pair 5-on-5 and they might think it's better to send him to Syracuse since they have more depth this year. I'd hold on to him if you can but dont't expect much next year.

Chinny if your guy is injured to start the season I think you can put him in IR on the first day. I guess what your asking is if you have cap space for Wisniewski starting today.
Would need to ask Comish or maybe someone else knows.

Yeah i can put him on IR day 1 just hoping Comish woudl feel bad for my teams FA happenings and decide that we can start our IR list early to get me some cap room, but this is me mostly dreaming!
I am getting ready to post my pick and i have also emailed Culpy and RC to get them ready!
