no love for nash???

does anybody else disagree with the guide's guess of a decrease in nash's production......the claim of losing zherdev and hainsey???

ok i can see hainsey's loss hurting the offense, but its not like he's a top offensive defenseman, he just was the best on that team last year and therefore got the most chances....and bringing in husleus, brassard and voracek making the jump (as well as filatov, potentially) i think columbus will boast the best offense they ever have, and nash will be a big reason for this.....look at his domination playing for team canada, where he always has great line mates....well this season he'll be playing with the best linemates of his young nhl career

Nash for 72 points this season is not only a three-point increase...but also a career high.
I'm not sure I see the problem.

PS - Hainsey would impact ZERO on anything in my books. Mediocre defenseman who was a healthy scratch far too often.

sorry dobber....didn't word things right.....yeah it's an increase, but only three points c'mon.....it's time for nash to have a serious bust out!!! i'm cautiously predicting 53 goals and 87 points, and finishing in top 15 in league scoring

ps....should have stated that other than nash's assesment the guide is amazing....i guess i just have a man crush and after seeing nash's name in the croak's section i had a bit of a freak out.....

53 goals is "cautiously"?

I think Nash will clock in at 76 points this year, 42 of them goals.

it is to know that you run this site based not on video-game style hype, pretty news-stand covers with 20 players in the 100+ point range, and offer clear-cut (and sometime brutally honest) insight for guys that should be brought down to earth for fantasy purposes and guys that need to be kept under a watchful eye for up-and-coming (fantasy worthy) performances.

Nash has all-world talent, fact.

His team is still building and his fantasy performance will reflect that accordingly... I think it's a fair estimate considering the up/down swings that team makes in the season and with more points to come next year and 2 years from now hopefully when he'll crack 85.

That's way too high lol. I think 78 points is reasonable. Umberger is a major upgrade (or Brassard) then what he is used to having but it's not that great.

So if he gets 78 points...I'd only be off by six. Not bad!

I'd rather have projections on the "low" side, as opposed to being unreasonable.

If everything falls just right for Nash, he could score 50 goals and 80+ points, but I sure wouldn't bet my life savings on it.

Until proven otherwise, 72 points for Nash is a very reasonable prediction, and as Dobber noted, would be a career high. If you think that's wrong, move him up your draft board. Simple as that.
