Here's how I hope McTavish puts his line
Cole-Horcoff-Hemsky
Nillson-Cogliano-Gagner
Penner-Pisani-Brule
Moreau-Brodziak,Thortini
1st line is no secret
2 line you just can break them with the Chemistry they had at the end of the season
3 line Brule never got a chance to prove himself under Hitchcok playing under 8 minutes per game on a fourth line!!! in a defensive system. I'm sure playing with veterants he could get his confidence back and live up to the hype that made I'm a 6th overall pick. He played well for syracuse (AHL) during the playoff. If the defense is strong they have three good lines. I didn't mention Shremp but he could also be in the mix.

Here's how the beat reporters see the line combos...
Cole - Horcoff - Hemsky
Penner - Gagner - Nilson
Pisani - Cogliano - Moreau
Stortini - Brodz - Pouliot
I also have a friend who works at the Oilers and he believes the lines will look like this...
Cole - Horcoff - Hemsky
Gagner - Cogliano - Nilson
Pisani - Pouliot - Penner
Stortini - Brodz - Moreau
Personally I see the media lines making more sense. I can't see the Oil putting Penner on the 3rd line and their captain on the 4th line.

Those lines look good. I would only make one change. Take out Brule for either Potulny or Pouliot. I have a very, very strong feeling that Brule will be spending the majority of the season in the minors to help get his confidence back. However, he would be called up first in case of injury.
Also, if they did decide to split the kid line - I think it would be Cogs dropping to the checking line and Penner moving up.

I can't see the Oil putting Penner on the 3rd line and their captain on the 4th line.
I would mostly agree with the first part but have to disagree with the second. Edmonton has never had a problem with their captain playing 4th line minutes (Buchburger anyone?)And we will have to see if he can even stay healthy this season anyways.

You may be right Bowdown, but if Moreau is healthy he is a big, strong guy who is a good skater and is able to finish at times. I personally think he deserves 3rd line minutes.
