No Stamkos or Turris here, but any comments/Rankings on these prospects will be appreciated (I have the prospect guide):
Blake Wheeler Jack Skille Andreas Nodl Mark Santorelli Brian Salcido Angelo Esposito Stefan Legein
I know they are not top tier but with a little luck a couple of em may pan out. Trouble is I need to move one or two due to protection issues.

1-Esposito (Upside 85 pts) 2-Santorelli (Upside 85 pts) 3-Wheeler (Upside 80 pts) 4-Nodl (Upside 80 pts) 5-Skille (Upside 75 pts) 6-Salcido (Upside 60 pts) 7-Legein (Upside 60 pts)
Riskiest - Espo would be the high risk/high reward pick. He has the offensive instincts flair to be a first-line center. He just has to show he wants to be. But the prospect of feeding Kovalchuk has to be enticing.
Safest - Wheeler finished up his NCAA career and decided he wanted to play in the NHL. So he left the Coyotes and signed with the Bruins. The big talented winger has a shot at a top 6 role this season.

I see it like this:
Skille - safest bet for 70 pts
Wheeler - good upside, bit of a longshot
Espo - great upside, big longshot
Nodl - Good offensive player, bad situation in Philly
Santorelli - I don't know muck other than what I've heard in the forms
Legein - Avery type player
Salcido - see Santorelli

Am I the only one who's not sold on Skille? I think he'll end up as a solid 3rd liner in Chicago.
Wheeler is very solid, but he has a lot of guys ahead of him in Boston, at least at C and RW. If he can play LW though... that's another story and I like his situation a whole lot more.
Esposito has converted back to center full-time now, but Atlanta's AHL team is known for not playing prospects a lot. He could get hurt if he doesn't get a lot of icetime. On the other hand, Chicago Wolves lost Krog this year, so that opens up a lot of opportunity for Espo down the middle.
Nodl is Vanek lite, only with everyone and their mother ahead of him in Philly.
Mark Santorelli is, along with Espo, the guy with the biggest upside, but he also has some bust potential since his defensive work and speed has been questioned. Very intelligent player though. Dominated with Moller in Chilliwack. I like him the most of the lot.
Legein I'm not very familiar with. Seems like a clutch scorer who doesn't score that much. Seems like a prototypical third liner, especially on that suddenly stacked, young Columbus team.
Salcido is weird to include in this list because he's the only defenseman. I really like him though. Great upside and with Niedermayer retiring, that's an open PP spot right there. He was one of the top dman scorers in the AHL this year.

It's unfair to rank Salcido based on pts upside since he's a dman. If your league requires x dmen, then he's shouldn't be last.
I'd go (assuming you have positions, not just all skaters):
1 Wheeler - close to NHL, but will be buried in BOS 2 Skille - 1st to 3rd line in CHI (you pick...everyone has a different opinion anyway) 3 Salcido - waiting for Nieds to retire, good upside, might be ahead of salcido depending on what position you need 4 Esposito - i think he'll bust, but i've been wrong before Santorelli - very skilled, but few years away 5 Nodl - haven't heard much about him 6 Legein - downie-lite, imo

I know they are not top tier but with a little luck a couple of em may pan out. Trouble is I need to move one or two due to protection issues.Andreas Nodl:"When St. Cloud were eliminated from this year's tournament, I heard a lot of criticism of him.(read: a few criticisms...seriously, I don't know many people who watch college hockey, and I only found out how to see games this year...) it's true he was completely shut down all game, but he was making plays. He was thisclose to breaking the stranglehold Clarkson had on the team. Anyways, the kid is pretty dynamic. Quick on his feet. Good hands, great passing and stickwork. As cliché as it is, there's a fair bit of Thomas Vanek in him. 2 years away. 35-45-80 upside." That was my analysis a while back. I revised it to 35-50-85 after my last run through of my prospects. He's a gem. Many people don't put him up here because they think JVR and Giroux are Philly's only good forward prospects. Which would be very wrong. He's underrated and he's very good. Mark Santorelli:Nashville is impatient. They will give their kids a chance, and since they're cheap, Santo will be given a chance sometime in the near future. He'll deserve it though, and he's not the kind of guy you want to count out in those situations. He'll break 40 his first year and make a slow-ish ascension to the 75 point pinnacle. Upside could net him higher than that, but I doubt he'll get it in Nashville. Blake Wheeler olid power forward who looks like with the right development, could be a 65 point guy perennially, once he hits his stride in 5 years. Angelo Esposito:High upside, and if he wrangles the whole mental issues out of the equation, he'll be very good in Atlanta. Can't miss prospect is closer to missing though, due to those team canada roster cuts and the media hype weighing down on him. Jack Skille:Not sld on him. I think he'll be a good 3rd line power forward who puts up about 40 a year. Kind of like David Booth, except Booth is doing it now. Skille will take a year or two. Brian Salcido:I'd imagine that your league values dmen somewhat highly. Still, I'm not sold on salcido as a really legit D presence on a fantasy team. Stefan Legein: Pest. Checking line forward. 30 points maybe. Lots of PIMs though.

good opinions here. i agree most with sentium and lockedge... in that i'm not sold on Skille either. I think he'll have a very short time to prove that he's 2nd line capable, and then there are others in that deep Chicago pipeline that could take his place. 3rd liner is my guess.
Wheeler - if i had him, i'd trade him now because of all the news he's attracted this summer. the next Taylor Pyatt, maybe a Dustin Penner if he's lucky. huge guy with not as much skill as everyone thinks. there is a chance he plays in Providence this year, which would make the snubbing of Phoenix incomprehensible to me.
Legein - your first dropski. won't be an NHL caliber goal scorer. upside is as a pest... upside!
i don't know much about santorelli, to be honest. i'll defer to others about him.
salcido - #1 prospect dman in anaheim, they'll need him soon.
esposito - worth the risk.
nodl - i've only watched youtube clips, i really like the look of him. lockedge seems to be the expert here.
**no particular order to my responses here, just my opinions.
