I've seen this guy play, he's very good. Not sure why he was never with the 'A' list at draft time. He seems fairly responsible in his own end...

a year, 2 years before the draft, he was in the mix to go 1st overall. scouts saw defensive deficiencies, or at least figured that it would take him more time developing to get to the NHL level than the other top defenders.
i think he'll be quite good. good hitter. check out youtube clips of him, he's a smart puck mover. however, he's got sanguinetti to contend with on new york.
2 more years of junior, perhaps 1 more in the AHL.

I like him, but like all defensemen it will be years before you see a 45-point season.
While he may be in the NHL before then, he won't get 45 points until 2014.

Hey Matt, here is a post I made a few months ago on Del Zotto.....I see him play with the Gens a fair bit
I can shead some insight into Del Zotto.
He is always looking to skate with the puck and jump in the rush, although sometimes makes the wrong reads (will learn with experience). Plays with an edge and is an excellent powerplay quarterback. He loves to carry the puck out of the defensive zone and has good vision and makes good first passes. Yes he is a defensive liability at times, as he gets burned pinching or trying to beat a man when he is the last guy back. Needs to improve defensive responsibilities but has very good offensive upside. Reminds me a 'little' bit of Chris Chelios
