Ryan Vesce position?

Dobber, both the forecaster and hockeydb list Vesce as an RW. Are you sure he's a rearguard? Just signed him in one of my pools, but he'd be more valuable as a D than F for me there.

Pretty sure he is a RW. Ottawa asked him to their camp on a tryout and I was pretty excited. I guess San Jose signed him to a contract instead of a tryout. Oh well. From what I know the guy is small, super quick, has great hands and is a shootout specialist (Datsyuk move).

Yeah, I wanted the Sens to have him for sure.

This is one more instance of Brian Murray NOT impressing me as GM this summer. Anybody else think his showing so far has been rather underwhelming?

Not sure I agree with you about Murray. I have a lot of confidence in him as GM of the Sens. He is not willing to overpay for anybody. Take a look at some of the contracts he has his players signed to.

Volchenkov @ $2.5 until 2010
Phillips @ $3.5 until 2011
Spezza @ $7 until 2013
Heatley @ $7.5 until 2013

I know you said this summer and those were all last year, so lets deal with this year.
Jason Smith - great leadership, great price. All we want from him is to get Spezza to stop his no-look passes (the ones that work - he can keep doing those - LOL)
Ruttu - good signing at a great price.
Vermette - getting him resigned was key and at $2.75, I like it.

Murray has not addressed Meszaros' RFA status yet, but I think he has something up his sleeve. I will have patience with him as he did build the Champion Ducks before Brian Burke destroyed that team.

Anyway, I have to go now. I do want to say thank you for all your Russian updates, I love reading them and thank you for the time you take to do that. I find myself giving Karma to you about 3 times a week.
