Anyone use ESPN to host a Keeper League?

I sent this question to both their fantasy question system and their general feedback system. Here's my question: MESSAGE: Hi there. I have a question regarding position eligibility that isn't completely answered in the FAQ. At present the FAQ has a wording saying that the primary position of a player will not be changed during the season. Does this mean that players can recieve additional position eligibility, ie. having LW as primary and then getting RW as the additional position, making that player a dual LW/RW?
Thanks in advance! Here's the first answer I got: Hello Thomas,
Thank you for contacting us.
That is absolutely correct. A LW for example who starts the season at LW will never lose the LW. He can however gain an RW or C (even a D or G although I do not think thats very likely).
Thanks for visiting ESPN.com.
For live assistance with this or any other issue, please call Customer Care at 1-888-549-3776 (ESPN) between 7:00 am and 2:00 am EST.
Regards,
Drew ESPN.com Customer CareHere's the second answer I got: Hello Thomas,
Thank you for contacting us.
Additional positional eligibility will be given once the skaters have played enough at the new position. They will never lose position eligibility but a RW could become a RW/LW/C by the season end. We apologize for the confusion. Have a good day. Thanks for visiting ESPN.com.

Drew ESPN.com Customer CareSince my league isn't interested in PPP I didn't ask about that, but it's obvious that you should get your question answered, so just shoot it to them and our dear Drew should get back to you

I don't know why there is always such a fuss about position eligibility. Why don't commissioners just use the forwards category instead of LW RW & C?

Because balancing positions is a good challenge.

Its an uneccessary challenge. Its different if there was a siginificant scoring discreapancy between those 3 categories (unless you include face-offs). But there is not, so why try and make things more complicated?

No, it's not an unnecessary challenge.
Let's say you play 2LW, 2RW, 2C compared to 6F. In the 6F setup you can have 3 centers from ie. Detroit playing simultaneously, but in the C/LW/RW setup you need to space out your talent from different teams.
Also, LW is a notoriously difficult position to fill with quality scorers, so yes, there is a discrepancy there.
Again: It's a good challenge and increases the amount of managing skill needed.

So whats wrong with having 3 Detroit guys if you want them?

So if LW are difficult to fill wouldn't having forwards instead of LW RW C, solve that difficulty?
I guess its just a matter of preference. I prefer to have things less complicated and easier to manage. You seem to prefer the challenge of taking on a complicated task.

If you have 3 Detroit centers in a 2C 2LW 2RW setup, you won't be able to play all of them at any given night. However, you will be able to do that with a 6F setup. More challenging.
So if LW are difficult to fill wouldn't having forwards instead of LW RW C, solve that difficulty?

Of course having forwards only would solve that difficulty. That's the whole point. It's a difficulty that a lot of managers want because it requires more skill and therefore is more satisfying to solve.
Like you say, it's a matter of preference. But don't say that it's an unnecessary challenge because that's just flat out wrong for a lot of managers.

I can respect both sides of the argument .In the keeper league that I commish I like to keep it simple and just use the fwd / def / gol slots .The league is 600+ players deep so its simpler that way but in the few side dish leagues that I join I like to mix it up a bit by signing up for the lw/rw/c challenge sentium -stop telling people that lw is tough to fill -ther not supposed to know that
