Simple question, who's the better keeper option based on my league format (as outlined in my signature)?
My other six keepers are set: Malkin, Luongo, Getzlaf, Bryzgalov, Perry, Vanek.

I would say Boyle, as he is a top 10, possibly even a top 5 Dman this year, and you should probably keep one Dman.
Basically you are keeping a Tier 1 Dman over a Tier 3 forward which makes sense IMO.
Good luck with your decision. Cheers.

I would agree with Boyle. He looks really exiting in SJ. 60 point Ds are rare.

Dan Boyle. Where are you gonna get a d-man like that to be the head of your defense? Gotta have at least one stud on D.

Boyle is a slam dunk. Especially since you need to start 5 defensemen, going into the draft with none would be tough. Boyle is a great foundation for your blueline. Keep him for sure, and enjoy seeing him on the PP with Big Joe and co.

Boyle. I agree with top 10, maybe top 5 analysis on the blueline. Boyle & a common LW (55 points) score more than Carter & a common D-man (35 points).

Thanks for the confirmation all. I already had Boyle pencilled in but was curious to see if anyone would step up with a strong argument for Carter. His age and skill level are appealling, but I agree that Boyle will be very good in San Jose, likely a top 10 dman. His +/- will be vastly improved and I think he's gonna go out of his way to show Tampa Bay what he can do after the way they treated him.
