Roto league rankings tool

If you head on over to mediafire.com you can upload any file up to 100MB in size and then all you'd have to do is post the link to the file (something like www.mediafire.com/XYZABCD) here or by email. Just thinking of ways to make this easier on you! Thanks for all the hard work though!

Well the other issue is that the projections are based on Dobber's, and I won't give away his guide for free. So it's just gotta be results!

I don't mind so far. If it becomes an flood of requests I might have to think twice, but it's tolerable thusfar.

Besides, these are just one guy's mathematical crunchings. It's not like this is gospel, and shouldn't be taken as such!

It is a 5 player Keeper League (not that it matters) in Yahoo

10 Teams - Roto Snake draft
3 Centers, 3 RW, 3 LW, 1 F, 4 D, 2 Goalies and 5 Bench players (a maximum of 82 games at each position)

Stats: Goals, Assists, +/-, PIM, Power Play Points, Short-Handed Points, Game Winning Goals, Face-Offs Won

For Goalies (if you have it): Wins, Shutouts, Goals Against Average, Save Percentage

If you could send me an attachment, I would be SUPER appreciative and would most likely use it. It is difficult to use normal rankings with stats like Face-Offs Won, Short-Handed Points and Game Winning Goals...

I don't see much money-making to be done here, at least until this thing is refined for a few seasons. It's also needlessly complicated (at least from an Excel execution perspective). And Dobber would, of course, need a kickback of some sort...

I haven't included any prospects in the list because there isn't enough historical data to project most of the stats in a reasonable way.

My advice would be to build a draft list that identifies each need that you have to fill, and rank the players accordingly based on that stats you need to make up ground in. The rankings are a reasonable guide, but they certainly aren't any substitute for a well-prepared draft list. You can filter the results I sent you to look at rankings by position, which might be helpful to you in making that list.

Just as a followup to you guys - if anything seems weird let me know. I'm looking to improve this thing pretty much ongoingly, and the Dobberhockey community's feedback since I started this little exercise has been great.

If it is not too much trouble, I would be interested to see this too.

hey pooladdict, could you by any chance send me your +/- projections used in this spreadsheet? and what did you use to calculate this stat? thanks!

I used last years' +/- stats. I haven't been able to sort out a reasonable way to project them, so I've just gone with what is proven.

If a player switched teams I've re-assessed their (Boyle, Richards).
