1 year roto, dman help

Hey guys, I recently just completed the draft for our annual hockey pool. This year it changed into a 1 year roto from a 4 year keeper (points). As such, completely new teams were drafted by the 8 gms. I feel that overall my team is very balanced and has the depth to take a deep run un this roto league (team is in sig). However, I am a little concerned about my backend of :

Pronger
Burns
Bieksa
Coburn

I am planning on making a move for at least 1 more dman, my question is, should i swing big for a top tier dman to go with pronger, or add another solid 40pt dman with upside? (like my other 3) As one can see, I have many assets up front, especially at C and RW now that cole is only listed as a rw in yahoo. I just wouldnt be willing to move a goaltender as I am very content with my 1/2 punch of nabby and miller, with gerber as a solid # 3 fill in.

Thanks for the help!

To be honest, given this is an 8 team league, I don't know that you are really all that deep anywhere. I like your RW depth the best so what I would do is probably try and move one of Erat/Okposo/Cole to get another good D for depth and then see how things play out before making any major moves.

You have lots of good darkhorse players with great upside so don't be in a rush to do anything yet.

Edit: Trying to improve Wolski as your #4 lw is something else I would consider.

i would suggest swinging for the fences and having a super solid top d man to go along with pronger
the premier dmen are usually more consistent, and then you can have peace of mind and basially ride your top two d
burns also just had sugery fyi

I wish I knew what stats you were using, exactly, in this league.

Personally, I don't think your D is your first issue. I'd swing for a C/LW before I looked at D. (I personally find Sedin to be worth more to deal than to keep on a team, but that's me. He's assists only in my book.)

I think that the top dmen this year, as in the past, aren't extremely deep. There are a lot of middling dmen that are equivalent (or more) to Bieksa that pop up. Watch waiver wires for that. Personally, I wouldn't be terribly surprised if Burns has the best year on your blue line. Minnesota's not worried about his surgery--why should you be? And I keep wondering when Pronger has a few of those bumps and bruises cause him to play 65-70 games in a season.

Couple of thoughts - if your league is in Yahoo and PIM's is a cat in your league I would hang onto Cole - he will most assuredly get LW designation as well.

With 82 max games you are definitely underbuilt at D and overbuilt at forward - you almost assuredly won't get all your D games in without picking a guy up - be nice to have choices about who to play when they all do - favorable matchups help.

I think your team is good but not great in an 8 team league - your strength is in goal and I actually think your D is the next strength you have.

You have a bench of 6 and 1 will be a goalie - I think you also should have a D guy there and the rest forwards. Okposo would be the gone guy for me - either through a trade or straight drop for a D guy.
