"Harding, who had 25 saves, left the game in the third period after a fluke accident in front of the Minnesota net. Buffalo's Dylan Hunter lifted the stick of Wild defenseman Martin Skoula in the crease, causing Skolua's blade to enter the eye hole of Harding's mask. Harding immediately dropped to the ice and was helped off by a trainer."

Anybody see this happen? Is it serious?

A right eye abrasion, caused by a player's stick means Josh Harding had a bit of his eye scraped when the blade slipped through his mask.

It can be very serious (in a minute percentage) but in the vast majority, it results in little more than blurriness for a while, perhaps a superficial mark. Oh, and also pain!

He should be fine, once the doctors investigate to ensure there isn't any serious -- and potentially permanent -- damage. I'd expect him back (depending on blurriness) around the start of the season.

Worst case (if it is minor, as I'm assuming), a few games after.

As per Dobber's update.. he's good to go. Here's a link:

"Everything's fine," Harding said after watching -- through sunglasses -- his teammates practice. "It's just a slight scratch. But nothing serious. I should be back right away"
