brand new keeper league...just to give you an idea...16 teams- my 1st rder is 12th overall my last rd (25th) is 396th overall...

How would you go about trading for another 2nd/3rd/4th rd pick? which picks would I have to give up?...so far, no one in the league has been reluctant to trade their picks...

draft is on the 14th of sept...

appreciate the help!

just find some sucker to give you his 2nd and 6th for your 3rd and 4th.

you can also wait until the draft starts and then you can start trading picks, some guys want to move up, and some guys wouldn't mindmoving down because they think they can get their guy at a later pick. It all depends on how the draft is going for the particular owner though.

Trading up can be tricky - very easy to cut your own throat for 1 pick - so be careful.

I agree with Zorro - think about what you might be able to do during the draft and be ready to act if the opportunity presents itself.

I usually just let the first draft go as is, but then try to gain picks as the season goes on. Lots of picks make following drafts so much easier on you as far as decisions and maybes go.

However, trading up is usually not worth it, but trading down is an option you might want to consider if you want to build picks. If there are a couple of guys you could take at 12, try and trade down a couple of spots with someone else, if they want a guy bad they will pay hard.

I think this is really solid advice - I have had good experiences trading down and nothing but heartache trading up.

Especially early on, where you can add picks and still get high quality players. Trading down, goes a lot further in helping your team load up on picks and setting up more trade down scenarios as the draft goes on.

I agree both with waiting for the draft to start before thinking about trading and with looking to trade down rather than trade up.

It's not a hard and fast rule, but generally I wouldn't trade up unless there's a guy who has fallen shockingly far and you are certain will be snapped up as soon as someone astute looks at the board.

It can be tempting to trade but if you give up too many seemingly worthless depth picks you might regret it in the later rounds.
