The Coyotes have acquired 23-year-old center Alexei Kaigorodov from the Ottawa Senators for center Mike Comrie.
Phoenix:Brings in a player who was a victim of the numbers game in Ottawa. In Phoenix they will try and groom him into the 75-point player that he could be. They also cut salary. The playoffs are out of reach anyway. Fantasy Players Impacted:Comrie's value immediately skyrockets. He is a 70-point player on this team, and for the immediate future he will play with Heatley and Alfredsson and have the talent to keep up with them. Expect big points right away. Mike Fisher, when he returns, finds himself as the No.3 center again. Kaigorodov went from zero value to decent value in keeper leagues. It is not yet known if he will come back to North America this year, but I would not be surprised. If brought along properly, he can get 75 points in this league. Being a suck and flying back to Russia brings his attitude into question. Time will tell. |

Ottawa:Solves their center situation perfectly. They trade a player who will never want to play for them again and bring a player capable of being a No. 1 center for a month, and then settle in nicely at No. 2 when Spezza comes back. Well done!
