Exclamation THE GOALIE GUILD: Scouting Services

Hey everyone,

Was able to post a page listing all of The Goalie Guild's premium and free Scouting Services:

http://www.thegoalieguild.com/?page_id=4236

As you know, I have made concerted effort in the last few months to combine all of my local events and programs into The Avalanche Guild so that I can spend much more of my time on The Goalie Guild.

It has been a very successful endeavor so far. The Quest for the Crown charity hockey tournament is now tied in with the Avs Guild and I have eliminated the need to run any other local events because of it.

Most of you know that I am not a big self-promoter and I do not really care about web views or traffic or things like that. But since I am working really hard to develop my reputation as a pro goalie scout, I felt this page was necessary so that bloggers, fantasy managers and casual fans can use me as a resource for their goalie needs.

So please check it out and if you have any goalie friends that might enjoy some of our features, we would appreciate you spreading the word in any way possible =) I am excited to continue providing free analysis for Dobber Nation and keep the threads and questions coming!

My first Monthly Scouting Journal is either coming out in mid-September or early October. I am selling these for $4.99 per issue or for $25 for a whole season's worth of issues. If you might be interested in supporting TGG and purchasing these digital issues, send me a PM. I am obviously going to find ways to hook up Dobber Nation. Just throwing that out there!

Some of you have already contacted me about a season package for the Monthly Scouting Journal. I really appreciate that and wanted to give you more info on what the journal includes and entails.

The Monthly Scouting Guide is going to be a 15-20 page digital publication that expands on many of the free features you see on our website currently. I have 5 years of experience editing, writing and designing hockey publications (www.coloradohockeyinsider.com is a magazine I developed back in 2003 and ran until mid-2007) and this will be a similar publication, except published digitally.

Some of the features include an expanded Top-100 Prospects Rankings. Instead of just one line of text like you currently see on the online chart, each prospect will have 50-100 word write-up, so they are much more in-depth.

Another feature is the Goalie of the Month, an in-depth feature similar to what you read in School of Block. There will be fantasy analysis, AHL, ECHL, European, OHL, WHL, QMJHL roundups, interviews with goalies and goalie coaches, etc.

There will be at least one NHL goalie scouting chart included per month (you can see a preview of a chart on the Scouting Services page) and there will also be some featured articles that is more goalie-training specific. Some mental training content as well, maybe even a feature from another analyst like Dobber.

It will be jam-packed with goalie content that you see on my website and via School of Block the last three years, but not published anywhere else. It is all 100% authentic, genuine, current goalie scouting and analysis.

And of course I am putting together a deal which will be extended to all Dobber Hockey members!

I am ripping through the framework here. Already 12 pages completed.

The Expanded Top-100 Prospects Rankings feature is a whopping 4 pages, with zero photos.

The Top-10 has a total of 4 lines of text.

Top-11 to Top-30 has a total of 3 lines.

Top-31 to Top-75 has a total of 2 lines.

75-100 has 1 line each.

I have only been undergoing this venture for 1.5 years so the only professional work I've done and currently do is with McKeen's. I consider Dobber Hockey a professional gig as well even though it's all fantasy related.

A lot of my professional background is found here: http://www.thegoalieguild.com/?page_id=4236

I do mainly Avalanche radio analysis here in Colorado on the team's flagship station and work with some high-level goalies in the area and run a few charity tournaments. I also am working pretty closely with Elite Goalies, which is owned by Stars goalie coach Mike Valley.

If you check out www.icoach.com they will be releasing a beta version that allows me to scout and consult with goalies over a streaming network it's actually a pretty awesome system. Once that comes out then I'll be able to do more actual scouting of CHL goalies and stuff like that. I have to take baby steps since I am in Colorado for the forseeable future. I have a partnership with the Avs and I am dedicated to supporting them so for now it's just working out of Colorado and doing as much as I can through the website.

We are an independent scouting service so we do mainly freelancing and then of course selling the Monthly Scouting Journal is a premium feature that helps us continue to do what we do!

I am thinking about putting together a "mock issue" for August 1st that would be available to download for free for anyone who purchases Dobber's guide. Kinda like an added value thingie.

What do you guys think? That way you all can see just how the Monthly Scouting Journal is set up and what you'll find on a monthly basis. I'd rather do that then try and leak a bunch of pages everywhere on here.

Making great progress on the mock issue. I basically just have to get through the Top-100 updates and I'll have a 16-page introductory/mock issue to hand out.

I am pretty sure Dobber will allow me to package it with his Fantasy Guide so I am hoping for that =) We will find out next week.
