Fantasy impact: The New York Rangers sign left wing Viktor Stalberg to a one-year contract worth $1.1 million.
The Rangers get: A forward that was recently bought out by the Rangers after scoring 10 points in 25 games last season, along with time in the AHL. However, Stalberg scored 17 points (including 11 goals) in 20 games in the AHL. He couldn't get it going in Nashville after signing a four-year, $12 million contract in 2013 fresh off of showing some promise with the Blackhawks.
Fantasy players impacted: Stalberg seems like more of a third-line option for the Rangers, as the current depth chart shows Chris Kreider and Kevin Hayes ahead of him on the left side. However, injuries and line juggling could move him up the rankings at some point. Possible linemates for Stalberg include veteran center Dominic Moore and newly acquired right wing Emerson Etem.
Fantasy players this helps:
1. Stalberg

3. Moore
Fantasy players this hurts:
1. Hayes
2. Kreider
