The Stars have sent Fabian Brunnstrom to the AHL today. This is a conditioning assignment, although again TSN painted this picture much blacker than it is (what is with them today?)

Patrice Bergeron has been cleared to play and he will lace them up against the Caps.

The Rangers have placed Dan Fritsche on waivers. Although he is a Bandaid Boy, he is far too talented to slip past all the teams. He'll find a home. And he'll make a quick impact, too.

A quick note on Nikita Filatov, in case you are panicking about TSN's brief story – it's strictly paperwork, according to the Dispatch. Filatov is on the IR but it is retroactive, meaning he can play later this week.

Why do I like the Senators now? Read my THN article here.

The Sabres are without Henrik Tallinder (shoulder – probably early March), Andrej Sekera (ankle – another week) and Teppo Numminen (jaw – probably another couple of weeks at least). They recalled MA Gragnani, who has 30 points in 44 AHL games. Despite all the room, Nathan Paetsch is still not getting more than 11 minutes of ice time.

The Ducks recalled Drew Miller, indicating that Selanne won't be back next game. He'll be another week I'm guessing.

Patrice Bergeron skated for an hour yesterday and took some light contact. He is expected to try things out as a winger when he returns. I don't think he'll be longer than two more weeks and as a winger he holds more value.

Phil Kessel took to the ice for 35 minutes yesterday according to the Globe. He's still not close.

Manny Fernandez will "miss a few games" with "soreness". The team recalled Tuukka Rask.

The Preds have reunited Steve Sullivan with Dumont and Arnott. This has potential to be explosive, like it was two years ago.

Legwand will center Erat and Ryan Jones on Line No.2.

No Filatov for tonight. CBJ's line combos: Malhotra with Huselius and Nash; Williams with Umberger and Voracek; Chimera with Boll and Modin; Peca with Dorsett and Torres.

Andy McDonald is going to be doing full practices this week. If all goes well, he'll be in the lineup on the weekend.

Cheap advertising – $50-$90 introductory price for 30 seconds on Dobber Nation. Next episode in February will have huge guests (I'll keep it under wraps for now – but I don't use that word lightly). That's less than 10% of the price of the same ad on an AM station – minus the listener channel flipping! Email Rob for details.
