Sergei Zubov has signed to play in the KHL. A great fantasy d-man in his day

I have Jonathan Ericsson for 32 points this season, and I think 38 is feasible for 2010-11.

Regarding my Upshall call – the Coyotes are a young team in which all players are expected to improve year by year. Upshall actually scored a better rate then 47 points once he came over. That said, I say “2nd/3rd line” because those lines are interchangeable. Do you call Turris, Boedker and Vrbata the 2nd line? Or Hanzal, Upshall and Prucha?

From On Frozen Pond: “DadonovThe Continental Hockey League (KHL) today announced that it registered the contract of Detroit’s Jiri Hudler (a restricted free agent) with Moscow Dynamo in part because the NHL won’t step in and cancel Florida prospect Evgeni Dadonov’s contract with the Panthers. The KHL was going to allow the Hudler signing anyway, but I guess they figured this was a good way of getting the Dadonov situation out in the open.” Let’s take two things from this: Jiri Hudler is GONE and I will adjust his prediction in the Guide accordingly. And Dadonov WILL be in camp and could make the team.

Ryan Getzlaf underwent sports hernia surgery yesterday. I’m not saying if it was a success or failure, I’ll leave that mystery for you to solve. He is expected to be ready for training camp.

The Oilers have signed Ryan Potulny and Liam Reddox. I have Potulny playing about half the year for the Oilers, but an injury in the lineup could change that. He’s still only 24.

The Wild have signed Josh Harding to a contract for $1.1 million (one year). I believe he will be moved, though probably not before October.

The Isles signed d-man Jack Hillen to a two-year deal. I have him tallying 30 points this campaign.

Ottawa invited undrafted right wing Keegan Dansereau to training camp. As an overager, Dansereau had 81 points in 69 WHL games for Swift Current and was a plus-35. If he battles his way into the NHL it won’t be for a few years.

The Sens also signed minor leaguers Derek Smith and tough guy Jeremy Yablonski.

The Coyotes have re-signed Scottie Upshal and goalie Josh Tordjman to one-year deals. Tordjman is buried on the depth chart and I doubt we’ll see him in the NHL this year. I have Upshall on the second/third line tallying 47 points this season.

Jason Williams is considering a contract from the Red Wings. He is also apparently considering a bigger contract in the KHL… my vote is KHL.

The Ducks have extended Petteri Nokelainen, a one-year deal, pushing him through the 2010-11 season.

So what do the Lightning have from their big spending spree from a year ago? Recchi? Nope. Vrbata? Nope. Roberts? Nope. Hall? Yes! Kolzig? Nope. Prospal? Nope. Malone? Yes! And their trade of Boyle swapped for Carle/Wishart swapped for Eminger swapped for Welch? Welch is gone. So they still have Wishart… but then they buried him and he sits 11th or 12th on the depth chart. Some smooth moves!

Countdown until the best damn fantasy hockey resource is released: TWO days.
