Ray Emery, who has been suffering from back spasms after throwing a baseball last week, will start one of Ottawa's next two games.
For the sixth time in eight games, the Pens scratched Colby Armstrong. He turns 25 this coming Friday, but he should be playing in the AHL for his birthday - it would be best for his confidence.
Mark Recchi was back in the Pittsburgh lineup, playing with Staal and Malkin. he played 16:02.
Darryl Sydor, the Pens' second big FA acquisition this summer, was a healthy scratch again.
Ryan Callahan will likely return to the Rangers' lineup late this week.
Washington line combos: Ovechkin with Backstrom and Clark, Semin with Gordon and Pettinger, Fleischman with Nylander and Kozlov, Brashear with Steckel and Laich.
The Sharks placed Marcel Goc on injured reserve with back spasms.
In case you were wondering where Chris Chelios was last night - the Wings gave him the night off. It was the first of back-to-back games, so he will play Sunday. As will Chris Osgood.
Shea Weber was back in the Preds lineup last night. He played nearly 20 minutes. He was third in PP ice time though (among defensemen) behind Zidlicky and Suter. He picked up an assist. Ville Koistinen was a healthy scratch.
Mark Parrish, who left Friday's game with a strained back, should be back in the Wild lineup today.
Mikko Koivu's leg injury from Friday turned out to be a cracked fibula. They say it's possible that he could be back in a week...but I have trouble believe that. consider him out for at least three or four weeks.
Mattias Ohlund could be suspended for the slash that cracked Koivu's fibula. The NHL will make a decision today.
Jannik Hansen was a healthy scratch last night.
Peter Budaj will get the start for the Avs today.
LA line combos last night: Kopitar with Brown and Nagy. O'Sullivan with Frolov and Cammalleri.
Cory Murphy's bruised shoulder is getting better, but he is still questionable for tomorrow's contest.
Chicago's Rene Bourque left last night's contest midway through the third with a possible fracture in his thumb after blocking a shot. He scored two shorthanded goals in the game.
Patrick Sharp's four-point game last night gives him 10 goals and 16 points in 20 games - a 65-point pace, which is above where I have his upside at. I think I'll tweak his upside higher rather than project a big slowdown. The Hawks love him and he's getting the opportunities.
Fernando Pisani is eyeing a mid to late December return to the Edmonton lineup.
Joni Pitkanen practiced with the Oilers and is looking to get back into the lineup by the end of the week.
Mathieu Schnieder has missed the last two contests with a hip injury, but he expects to be back in the lineup Wednesday.
Manny Fernandez is now saying that he could be back in practice by the end of this week. His knee injury status has bounced from months to days to weeks and back to days again... it's been tough to gauge.
Glen Murray has four points in his last two games and may be finally turning the corner.
As I said in my fantasy guide - Jonas Hiller makes a great pickup for the second half, as Bryzgalov will definitely be moved. Well, we are still in November and Bryzgalov has been moved (as you by now know). Hiller should get in 20 starts from here on in and he will put up solid numbers.
Meanwhile, Bryzgalov stopped 28 shots and got a shutout win in his Phoenix debut. Tellqvist was the backup, not Auld. It will be interesting to see which goalie wins the backup job and which one gets sent down.
With the Bruins playing back to back games this week, look for Tuukka Rask to make his first NHL start.
Chad Kilger missed the Leafs' contest with a leg injury. Johnny Pohl replaced him.
Paul Martin missed his second straight game with that 'lower body' soreness I spoke of yesterday.
Funny how this guy was just asked about in the forum , but Stanislav Lascek has been cut from Norfolk and sent down to Mississippi of the ECHL. He is a bust as a prospect.
Columbus recalled Kirill Starkov from the ECHL - now that's a promotion!
